Class Description

Breathe Into Being is a weekly invitation to pause, soften, and reconnect with yourself — all from the comfort of your own home via Zoom. Each class blends together gentle practices that guide you out of the busyness of “doing” and into the spaciousness of simply being.

Together, we will explore:

Guided Journaling – prompts and reflections to help you tune into your inner world, release mental clutter, and gain clarity.

Gentle Yoga Warm-Up – a brief, accessible sequence of postures to release tension in the spine, shoulders, and chest, open the ribcage, and prepare the body to receive the breath with greater ease and fullness, while fostering a deeper mind-body connection.

Breathwork – a circular breathing technique designed to gently release stuck emotions and energy held in the body & nervous system, creating more freedom, flow, and inner ease.

Relaxation – a restorative closing practice to leave you feeling grounded, centered, and renewed.

Integration & Connection – each session concludes with reflective journaling to anchor your insights and a Q&A to share, ask questions, and connect in community.

Join me in this breathwork class to experience firsthand how this simple yet powerful practice can support your body, mind, and spirit.

This class is for anyone who desires to create an intentional soulful pause in their week.

No prior experience with journaling, breathwork, yoga, or meditation is needed.

The Healing Power of Your Breath

Breathwork is more than simply breathing deeply — it’s the intentional use of the breath to shift how you feel physically, mentally, and emotionally. Rooted in the ancient yogic practice of pranayama from the Indian subcontinent, breathwork continues this tradition of using the breath to calm the mind, balance energy, and support overall well-being — adapted now for modern life.

Here’s what happens when you practice breathwork:

  • More oxygen for your cells – energizing the body and reducing symptoms of stress and anxiety.

  • A calmer nervous system – activating the “relaxation response” and helping you feel grounded.

  • Brainwave shifts – increasing alpha waves linked to calm, creativity, and focus.

  • Quieting the busy mind – reducing overthinking and opening space for intuition.

  • Softening the ego – less activity in the brain’s “default mode network” allows you to loosen self-criticism and feel more present.

  • Emotional release – circular breathwork and similar practices help regulate emotions, reduce tension, and support overall health.

In essence: Breathwork helps you quiet your inner critic, calm the monkey mind, balance your mood, and reconnect with a deep sense of peace within.

Health Note:

Breathwork can bring up strong physical and emotional responses and isn’t recommended for everyone. Please avoid participating if you have cardiovascular issues (angina, heart attack, high blood pressure), glaucoma, retinal detachment, osteoporosis, recent injuries/surgeries, seizure disorders, severe mental illness, or a personal/family history of aneurysms.

If you are pregnant or have asthma, please consult your doctor first (and bring your inhaler if needed). Always check with your healthcare provider before beginning new practices.
