Meet Catharine:
This retreat is led by Catharine Tombs, a yoga, mindfulness meditation, and breathwork teacher, as well as a registered physiotherapist. With over 10 years of experience in guiding yoga and meditation practices and more than 20 years in physiotherapy, Catharine brings a compassionate, heart-centered approach to wellness.
For the past 8 years, she has been hosting women’s wellness retreats at her extended family’s resort, Elmhirst’s, in the Kawartha Lakes region of Southern Ontario and in Thunder Bay, where she now lives with her partner, daughter and beloved cat Milo. Inspired by the magic of these gatherings, Catharine is also expanding her retreats to other parts of Canada with intentions to bring her nurturing spaces to Italy in the fall of 2026 and Mexico in the winter of 2027.
Having experienced the transformative power of holistic practices and inner work in her own life, Catharine is passionate about helping others nurture their mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Her approach weaves together the wisdom of yoga, mindfulness, and breathwork with her clinical knowledge as a physiotherapist, offering a psychospiritual perspective that empowers women to reconnect with themselves and their inner wisdom.
Beyond the practices themselves, Catharine is dedicated to supporting and uplifting other women-owned and operated businesses, collaborating with talented female entrepreneurs to create spaces of community, empowerment, and shared success. She sees retreat as a sanctuary—a space to slow down, breathe deeply, and come home to yourself.

That is completely natural and understandable to feel nervous and at the same time curious and interested in delving into taking better care of Self.
